One unique feature of the UAM is it’s compatibility with the paediatric device knows as the Jackon-Rees Modified T-Piece. This efficient breathing system enables the UAM to provide safe anaesthesia in any paediatric setting. The Ayre’ T-Piece (as it was first known) was first developed in 1937 by Phillip Ayre and was soon modified by Jackson-Rees in 1950. This device is used often in paediatric anaesthesia for it’s low-resistance.
